ITALIAN R&D INIATIATIVES

OUR NATIONAL PROJECTS ARE TYPICALLY FUNDED BY LOCAL ORGANIZATION, NATIONAL MINISTRIES AND PRIVATE COMPANIES (MOST OF THEM ARE SME). WE WORK IN THE FIELD OF HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE CONSERVATION AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY, INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL COMFORT AND CITIZENS' WELLBEING, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW MATERIALS FOR BUILDING ENVELOPE AND URBAN PAVING, AS MITIGATION STRATEGY AGAINST URBAN HEAT ISLAND AND URBAN NOISE POLLUTION.

eduCER

EDUcer wants to bridge the gap between educational and implementation actions to generate the proper community based awareness and participation committment facilitating the Renewable Energy Communities transition. This is coordinated by EAPLAB at CIRIAF, with strategic partners such as Dept of Engineering, Dept of Economics at UNIPG, Municipality of Perugia, Energy4COM cooperative, the Carducci Purgotti school in Perugia, where the strategic case study is located. Educational programme are being implemented at first and second grade schools in Umbria, with more than 500 active participants.

The Unknown

The unknown wants to develope simplifies equivalent building envelope models facilitating the estimation of building energy and comfort performance and their contribution in terms of thermal emission (anthropogenic heat) in the urban climate change context.

next.com

next.com is a PRIN 2017 national project funded by the Italian Ministry of Research. It is aimed at developing and testing the new generation of multiphysics and multidimensional comfort models. To this aim, the NEXT.ROOM is designed and built at University of Perugia, Italy (EAPLAB premises) and this is capable to produce and control a variety of thermal, acoustic, lighting, air quality stimuli, to be detected through physical continuous monitoring and physiological sensors. Here wearable sensing techniques - also coupled to virtual reality - are tested.
